UPDATE!!!
Hi world, just checking in with a fun little update for you. I’ve been working hard on a few new projects, so here we go!
In April, I joined the People’s Improv Theater sketch comedy house team SLAP FIGHT. We have shows every third Tuesday of the month at 8 p.m. Our next show is on Tuesday, June 11, and IT WILL BE EPIC!
SLAP FIGHT also dabbles in improv. Our first improv show as a team is on Monday, June 24 at 9:30 p.m. at The People’s Improv Theater, just in time for the Del Close Marathon, where we’ll be performing on June 28 at 10:15 p.m. at Theater 80. I plan to be very drunk that entire weekend, so I kindly request that you lower your expectations in advance.
Around the same time I joined SLAP FIGHT, I also started teaching as part of an incredible children’s writing program called Writopia. I’m thrilled to be teaching the next generation of literary superstars.
In other “this makes me really happy” news, I recently signed a contract to do some blogging for truTV. You know how I always say snarky things about people who do dumb things? Well, now I get to do it on behalf of a TV network!
I’m also helping develop and produce a comedy mockumentary, with appearances from many of your favorite comedians - I’ll have lots and lots of details about this passion project soon! In fact, I’ll have so many details some of you will end up contacting me, and saying things like, “Whitney, you mind cooling it with the details of this project?” and I’ll say “No way,” and you’ll be like, “Well I wasn’t serious anyway because THIS PROJECT IS AWESOME.”
I may also be producing another web series in the near future, but I haven’t secured the details of that project, so right now it’s all hush hush. So, HUSH already, why don’t ya? Just kidding. You can talk as much as you want.
